How perfect is this coat by Paul & Joe Sister?

Yum…
Meanwhile I am more than in love with A.P.C’s Fall 09 collection and the lookbook for Play by C. Ronson at Urban Outfitters.
While the latter isn’t very suitable for our damp and dreary weather, add a cardigan or chunky scarf here, some tights there and you’re sorted.

I really really REALLY want these rock chick-like jeans from Topshop… I’ve tried them on and they’re skin tight ankle grazers.

I honestly can’t remember the last time I wore jeans on a night out, but I guarantee I’ll be wearing these the next time I tear up a dancefloor down south. Along with an oversized ripped t-shirt, crazy hair and dark eye makeup.
Or is that too cliché?
Meh!
My obsession with Love Song has now extended to EVERYTHING by Sara Bareilles. It’s not often that I take so well to such a mellow sound.
Gravity and Responsible, both from her debut album Careful Confessions, have been the soundtrack to my day. I’ll be hearing them in my sleep.
Dear American Apparel
Who in their right mind would honestly go to school like this?

Seriously, like!

If I was a rich girl
June 25, 2008“I don’t know why you waste your money on these things,” said my dad, tossing this month’s issue of Elle on the floor. “They’re full of ads.”
Yes Dad, but I clearly don’t mind. Especially if it’s Chanel.

A new Chanel boutique has opened at the Shoe Rooms in Brown Thomas.
I like wandering around BTs. What I don’t like are the looks I get from the shop assistants who just PRESUME that I can’t afford anything. Which is true. But I don’t like the fact that I apparently LOOK it.
My mom on the other hand… She’s perfectly entitled to spend an outrageous amount of money on something as silly as a bag. She’s earned the right to do that. Until the day I no longer have to worry about making this month’s rent or whether or not I’m going to have a job in two week’s time, I’ll be carting around my Canal Street knockoffs and walking holes into the soles of my e8 Penneys flats.
for with eyes shut, it’s you I’m thinking of
June 10, 2008The weather has been so nice lately.
And where have I been?
Inside. As usual.
I miss going to the beach or just being able to sit in the garden all day reading and having a tan. And freckles.
*sigh*
I’m not complaining though. I’ll happily wander aimlessly in the sunshine on my lunchbreak.

time for tea
June 5, 2008When you’re working on a national Sunday newspaper that has a coffee run at least three times a day, you slowly feel yourself being pulled into it… I think it’s the smell. And the fact that it’s rude to keep refusing.
But I’ll always be a Lyons girl at heart. Nothing beats a cup of tea. It’s the solution to all life’s problems. If something bad happens, you put the kettle on. If you’ve had a hard day at the office, you put the kettle on. If your friends call over, you put the kettle on. If something really really bad happens, you put the kettle on and make sure to add sugar (for the shock).

Rain, rain, go away…
March 16, 2008
I love a good ole rainstorm on a Sunday, when I can be all bundled up indoors in front of the fire, listening to the rain with either a good book or a good film at hand, lots of tea and no reason for me to set foot outside.
On any other occasion, I detest the rain.
Summer ‘07 was by far the rainiest in my memory. I’ve no idea how many days I rolled into work looking like a drowned rat, or slipped my way down Grafton Street or sidestepped a puddle only to end up in an even bigger one.
I also went through five umbrellas in the space of four weeks. Note to everybody: Never spend more than €6 on an umbrella, especially not in Ireland. Just pop into Penneys. Sorted.
Last summer I also found myself wishing I didn’t have a thing against wellies.
Y’see, I grew up in Kerry. Wellies did not translate as rainboots. Oh no! Wellies screamed farmer. And I was no farmer, I’ll have you know.
But since puddles = wet shoes = wet socks = wet feet = sick Lyndsay, I eventually had to cave and get a pair. A white pair with red polka dots. A cute pair.
Nonetheless, I’ve only worn them twice and they sit forlornly in the corner of my bedroom, gathering dust.
Now the rain is back with vengeance and, after getting soaked from head to toe by two buses AND a car today, I’ve been stealing a glance every so often in their direction…
Hmmm…
What if I never lost you, I wouldn’t have to find you all over and over
December 31, 2007I arrived back in Dublin today, somewhat embarrassed at the state my family found my bedroom in. When I offered them tea and they inspected the cups before drinking from them, I decided a mini-spring clean was in order.
But this proved to be too much effort so instead I made a half-assed attempt at tidying up my wardrobe after I unpacked. As I went through everything I don’t wear anymore (due to being either too small or just disgusting) I realised that I have a ridiculous amount of costumes and props. Of course this is due to being a dramahead and going to a college that has to have a theme for every event.
What am I going to do next year when I graduate? When will I ever again need to dress as a bad fairy, an Indian, a guard, the Cowardly Lion, an English bobbie or a cowgirl?
I also never realised how many scarves I have, including a Ralph Lauren one that I have never worn simply because I completely forgot I had it.
